About
Oyster Lake covers about 26 acres in Dune Allen. The name comes from the outline: a bent, shell-like basin that is easy to pick out among the smaller lakes on this part of the coast.
The lake can be seen from the road and from the Timpoochee Trail. Like Stallworth Lake nearby, it is a practical place for bird-watching along a developed stretch of 30A, where a dune lake still holds a recognizable form between houses, trail, and Gulf.
