About
Morris Lake lies in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, about 86 acres, in a landscape of high coastal dunes. The Morris Lake Trail is the named way in. Around the lake, the preserve is used for hiking, bicycling, fishing, birding, and camping.
Fuller Lake, immediately west, is connected to Morris and does not open an outfall of its own. Morris is the lake through which that western end of the chain relates to the Gulf. The dunes around it are old coastal ridges, and the preserve holds them as public land rather than as a developed shore.
Public access
Use Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The Morris Lake Trail leads to the lake. People hike, bicycle, fish, watch birds, and camp in the preserve. Park entry rules apply, and this page does not restate fees or hours.
