About
Eastern Lake covers about 72 acres at Seagrove. Houses, a public park, and the Gulf are all close. Public boat access includes the park on Lakewood Drive. The setting makes the lake a living laboratory: a neighborhood, a dune-lake basin, and an intermittent connection to the Gulf can be read in one place.
It is the next large public lake east of Western Lake, smaller and more tightly wrapped by streets, and still the same kind of water. Freshwater inflows and an occasional opening to the Gulf move salinity here the way they do along the rest of the chain.
Public access
Public boat access includes a park on Lakewood Drive in Seagrove. Other docks and yards along the shore are private. This page does not list every public entry.
